IBF flyweight world champion, Sunny Edwards, is set to make his Matchroom debut as he headlines a world title triple-header at Wembley Arena on Saturday June 10.
Edwards (19-0) will defend his IBF world title for the fourth time, as Chilean, Andres Campos (15-0), travels to the UK in a matchup between two undefeated fighters.
This will be Campos’ first fight in Europe. The WBO Latino champion will be seeking to make a name for himself and be skyrocketed into the biggest fights in the division despite being unproven against the top players at the weight.
Edwards may be disheartened that he is not taking on either Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez or Julio Cesar Martinez after pleading for a chance to unify the flyweight titles, but would be wise to not look past Campos and miss that chance for the future.
A win here will extend the combined record of the Brit’s last five opponents to 120-5 – a good stat to prove his case as the best flyweight on the planet as he tops a bill with a further two world title fights and a final eliminator on the undercard.
