It did not take long for 33-fight veteran boxer, Jason Moloney, to react to Takuma Inoue’s thrilling win Saturday over Kazuto Ioka at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.
The former WBO bantamweight world champion has fought in the Tokyo Dome before, losing a competitive fight to Yoshiki Takei in 2024, while boxing other fighters from that region including Tenshin Nasukawa, Naoya Inoue, and Kohei Kono, among others.
The Aussie fighter has rebounded since his defeats by romping to wins over Herlan Gomez and Andre Donovan, both in Australia, and is now looking at what could be next.
And, after watching Takuma Inoue’s two knockdown decision win May 2, Moloney has the man he most wants.
“Congratulations Takuma Inoue [on] another impressive performance tonight,” Moloney wrote on X, formerly Twitter, mere moments after the ring announce confirmed the official result.
Moloney then made his play for the fight himself, targeting Inoue after the 30-year-old extended his pro record to 22 wins (5 KOs) against two losses, with two wins in a row since his decision loss to Seiya Tsutsumi, beating Nasukawa and Ioka in back-to-back bouts
“I respect you and what you’ve accomplished,” Moloney said, “but I truly believe this is a fight the fans would love to see.”
