After his win over Errol Spence Jr last month, undisputed welterweight world champion Terence Crawford stands alone in the eyes of many as the greatest fighter of this generation and one of the best to ever do it.
And Crawford himself has heaped some high praise on another active fighter recently, whom he described as one of the best ever in their respective weight class.
Whilst appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience, Crawford was asked about the upcoming event between Tyson Fury and former UFC star Francis Ngannou, when he sent props in the direction of ‘The Gypsy King.’
‘Bud’ also claimed Ngannou has “no chance” when the pair lock horns on October 28th in Saudi Arabia.
“He [Ngannou] has got no chance, Tyson Fury all day.
You’re talking about one of the best heavyweights ever, and you think this guy with no boxing experience can just come in and just beat him?”
“He don’t hit harder than Deontay Wilder! So what you think this guy is going to do with those ten ounce gloves on? It’s a different game, he’s going to get tired”
The crossover clash has received a mixed reception at best from boxing fans, who are seemingly growing tired with Fury’s either inability or unwillingness to agree terms for an undisputed heavyweight world title fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
As for pound for pound number one Crawford, he looks set to run it back with Spence towards the tail end of this year, with all signs pointing to ‘The Truth’ triggering a contractual rematch clause.
