Sam Eggington will return to the ring in the first quarter of the new year.
The Stourbridge super-welterweight, who is a former British, Commonwealth and European champion at welterweight, has been out since September.
Eggington (23-5, 15 KOs) lost for a fifth time as a professional at the Arena Birmingham, exclusively live on Sky Sports, as part of the supporting cast to Amir Khan’s victory over Samuel Vargas.
And after being stopped inside the second of 10 scheduled rounds by Tanzania’s Hassan Mwakinyo, it has been revealed that ‘The Savage’ will be back between the ropes on February 2, 2019.
The Jon Pegg-trained man will make a comeback on a Tommy Owens-promoted bill at the Holte Suite at Villa Park that will also feature Kaisee Benjamin and Lewis van Poetsch.
Shaun Cooper, Mohammed Wagas, Nathan Bendon, Anthony Manning and Matt Sen complete the card.
