Tim Tszyu To Now Face Sebastian Fundora After Keith Thurman Pulls Out – Full Details

Tim Tszyu was all set to face former welterweight world champion Keith Thurman in the first-ever live boxing match on Amazon Prime but now he has had to find a new opponent.

With just 12 days to go, the news that the promotion didn’t want broke when it emerged that Thurman suffered an injured bicep during training.

The American has only fought once since he lost his WBA welterweight title to Manny Pacquiao all the way back in 2019 and that was a unanimous-decision points win over Mario Barrios more than two years ago.

As such, hungry young contender Tszyu will now fight Sebastian Fundora in the March 30 PBC on Prime main event. Fundora was already in training for another opponent on the card, but he will now take this big chance on a major new platform.

The news was explained in full by Premier Boxing Champions on social media.

“Undefeated rising star @Tim_Tszyu will now take on all-action contender @SebastianFundo1 for Tszyu’s WBO title (pending approval), and the vacant WBC 154-pound world title, headlining a PBC Pay-Per-View event available on @PrimeVideo on March 30.

“Tszyu had originally been scheduled to face two-time world champion @keithfthurmanjr, who was forced to withdraw after suffering a bicep injury in training. Fundora had already been preparing to compete in the pay-per-view opener before being moved up to the main event.”

Fundora’s original opponent Serhii Bohachuk is now set to meet Brian Mendoza on the card for the interim WBC super-welterweight title.
