Tommy Fury has posted a nine-week body transformation visual ahead of his crossover bout with YouTuber-turned-fighter, KSI, this weekend.
The weight for the clash is set at 183lbs – two pounds less than Fury scaled for his last win against Jake Paul but eight more than the light-heavyweight limit he has competed at in the past.
He was previously involved in a weight controversy for a bout in Dubai against American Paul Bamba. Fury ended up competing in an exhibition on the card after missing the light-heavy limit by 6lbs. He later said that he met the number that was stipulated in his contract.
Today he posted the image on social media showing the results of a serious training camp and obviously confident that he, as the bigger man, will be fine on the scales.
The ‘insane’ improvements caused a stir amongst crossover boxing fans, with many believing Fury is primed to knock KSI out come fight night. Others took it further to say that if the bout didn’t end early in his favour it would be embarrassing.
Some commented on the picture enquiring about the drug testing situation. It has been confirmed that the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency has been employed for the main event.
Finally, opponent KSI said that the impressive transformation ‘will make it funnier when he knocks Fury out.’
The popular content creator enters the ring an underdog, with many believing the fight will play out similar to Fury’s effort against Paul in February, which showed levels between the influencer contingent and those who have been boxing from an early age.
The pair lock horns in what’s expected to be one of the best performing crossover events ever this Saturday in Manchester, broadcast live on DAZN PPV worldwide.
