Just as it looked like Jake Paul versus Tommy Fury might finally happen, the two have exchanged words on Twitter over contract negotiations.
In a heated back and forth, it appears the teams are still some way apart in agreeing terms, despite a location and date for the fight being settled.
Tommy took to social media to accuse Paul of ‘hiding’, suggesting the American attempted to use the same agreement that was originally in place for their cancelled fight which was agreed over two years ago.
Dear @jakepaul I’m glad to see you’ve agreed to the location and time, now you can tell your team to get round the table and negotiate properly instead of trying to hide behind the old terms/ agreements put in place 2 years ago. I’m ready and waiting to get this over the line.

Although Paul has continued to progress in that time, and has since defeated UFC stars Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva in the ring, it appears that Fury wants to re-negotiate those terms and demanded Paul to get round the table and ‘negotiate properly’.
In response, ‘The Problem Child’ fired back that he will ‘never risk a quid’ on the Brit again, after having to cancel two fights with Fury through no fault of his own.
The brash American claimed he would not be paying his opponent ‘a pence’ and instead insisted Frank Warren, who promotes Fury, will be coughing up the cash.
You & your papa are both frauds. My team & I will never risk a quid on u again. I’m not paying u a pence u dimwit so there’s no old agreement / terms.
My team has spoken to the Warrens multiple times this week & the deal is your promoter is paying you. Sign the paperwork. https://t.co/AprBUUKmyJ

Even in the face of this argument, there are promising signs for fans, with certain big obstacles being agreed upon.
The fight looks set to take place in the UK, with Fury having been denied entry to the US. Paul previously stated that he will fight in either London or Manchester.
With the original seven day deadline almost up, fans can expect plenty more of this until a fight is made. If not, and negotiations fall through, many fans will be pleased to hear the last of it. After all, if third time isn’t lucky, then fourth is unlikely.
