Tommy Fury has taken to social media to insist the only reason his fight with Jake Paul collapsed was because he was denied entry to the US and nothing to do with his preparations.
It comes after his dad, John Fury, shockingly revealed his son “wasn’t exactly in training” for the bout and that he was “overweight”.
Whilst speaking to DAZN, John Fury said:
“Tommy wasn’t exactly in training.”
“He’d only had about 10 days because he’d been on holiday and it was a surprising thing for him.”
“I was out of it doing these tours [with this other son – Tyson Fury] and being busy elsewhere, so I never got the chance to look at it properly. When I’ve paid attention, I noticed the whole thing wasn’t right anyway.”
“But I said ‘Okay, it is what it is, if you want to go over there and box him, do it. You’re experienced enough now and it’s a 50-50 platform.”
“I know you could be fitter, you’re overweight, but it’s entirely up to yourself because I’m busy and I can’t do it.”
He did however go on to state that his son still wanted the fight and believed he would get the victory:
“Okay then, I’ll do my own thing and I’ll go fight him anyway because I can beat him.”
‘The Problem Child’ was furious and believed John Fury’s revelation was the true reason Tommy ‘pulled out’ of the fight:
“I should sue this fool. Own dad exposes why he pulled out a second time.”

The Brit has now taken to social media to rubbish his dad’s claims and insist the only reason for the bout falling through was due to his visa issues. He posted a video on his Twitter account saying:
“Recently on social media I’ve seen more s**t on me than ever.””
“I just want to get one thing straight, the reason this fight didn’t take place was because I couldn’t get into the country [US].”
“Not because I wasn’t training or I wasn’t fit.”
“I was ready and raring to go, I was at the airport, Monday morning with my whole team ready to fly out and ready to get the show on the road.”
“I could not get into the country and that’s why this fight didn’t happen.”
“I just want to get one thing straight, that the reason this fight didn’t take place was because I couldn’t get into the country. Not because I wasn’t training or I wasn’t fit.”
“So all this bulls*** about me not being ready, not training, forget about it. If it’s not come from me, don’t believe it as it’s not true.”
The reason I am not fighting Jake Paul on August 6th in America is because I WAS NOT ALLOWED IN THE COUNTRY.

The ex Love Island star had signed to face the brash American YouTuber at Madison Square Garden on August 6. That was the second time the rivals had agreed to face each other, with Tommy having to withdraw from their fight in December due to injury.
Earlier in the week Paul confirmed he had moved on to replace the British Light Heavyweight with Hasim Rahman Jr for the Showtime Pay-Per-View.
