# Tommy Fury Beats Jake Paul: Reaction From The Boxing World

Tommy Fury defeated Jake Paul via split decision in what must be one of the most hyped eight-round main events in the history of the sport.

After all the talking on both sides, Fury did indeed prove too much for the American YouTuber-turned-fighter. [Jake Paul’s aspirations of world titles](https://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/12797976/jake-paul-im-going-to-be-a-world-champion-thats-like-saying-a-pigs-going-to-fly-responds-tommy-fury) were damaged by the fundamentals of the Brit, [who got up off the canvas in the final round to win it on two judges’ scorecards](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/tommy-fury-beats-jake-paul/).

Given the hype surrounding the Saudi Arabia backed event, plenty of people in the boxing world offered their immediate reactions.
