Tommy Fury is preparing to face Jake Paul on February 26, and whilst he may be a slight underdog at the bookies, his half-brother believes it’s a ‘one horse race.’
The fight looks finally set to happen after two postponements and plenty of trash talk. Paul and Fury will meet at a catchweight of 185lb and scrap for a scheduled eight rounds.
Tyson has previously said that Jake Paul is a ‘decent boxer’ – a comment that points to the idea he may think this fight could be close.
According to Tommy’s latest interview with FightHype, though, the current WBC heavyweight champion of the world is in no doubt who comes out on top.
“Tyson is, in my opinion, the greatest fighter ever, obviously the heavyweight champion of the world currently. He said to me ‘this fight is a one horse race, there’s no way this guy can last with you, it is what is, it’s a big event but it’s an easy fight for you.'”
At the end of the day, that’s coming from Tyson. That’s the guy of the minute. What he doesn’t know about boxing isn’t worth knowing … Every person that knows their boxing knows what this is and knows what’s going to happen on that night.”
Paul goes into the bout with a 6-0 record and four knockouts, whilst Fury has a couple more wins with the same number of stoppages.
After focusing on retired MMA fighters for his last three fights, Paul will face a man in Fury who is a similar size, age, and has been training boxing his whole life.
Fury’s eight fights have all been four rounders bar one that went six, and it’s the first time he has the pressure of a main event on his shoulders.
UK fans can watch live via BT Sport Box Office and the fight will be available on ESPN+ PPV in America.
