Tyron Woodley Reveals KSI Fight Contract With Rehydration Clause

Tyron Woodley is looking to continue his stint in crossover influencer boxing by targeting a fight with UK superstar, KSI – but he’s not happy with certain terms in the contract.

Following his retirement from a successful championship campaign in the UFC, Woodley took to boxing by coming up against (and losing to) Jake Paul, twice.

The man from Missouri wants to continue his efforts in the sport, and fancies a shot at Paul’s rival, KSI, who has dabbled in the sport for years and looks to be making a serious go of it now – at least in these crossover shows.

Apparently unhappy with the fight not being made as well as some conditions, Woodley shared a contract – which has not been confirmed as official from KSI or the promotional company – that stated the following in the ‘weight’ section:

“Maximum of 175lbs at the official weigh in on the day before the Bout (the “Official Weigh In”) and shall be a maximum weight of 185lbs in the afternoon of the day of the fight. Promoter will use best endeavours to ensure the local commission administer this second weigh in. If the Boxer is overweight at either weigh in the Promoter will be given the option to terminate the Agreement and cancel the Bout.”

Whilst rehydration clauses aren’t uncommon in the sport, many fans would like to see the back of them. For balance, Woodley fought his mixed martial arts career at the welterweight limit of 170lb and weighed in for his two professional boxing matches at 189lb and 185lb.

In response, his potential opponent didn’t address the weight specifically, rather the idea of fighting at all.

You haven’t won a fight since 2018 brother. When you finally get a win, then I’ll fight you. Deal?

The man from London is expected to announce an opponent for his next outing soon. Whether Woodley is in the hat remains to be seen.
