Tyson Fury’s Dad Called Out For Fight By Francis Ngannou’s Coach

Tyson Fury’s father John has been involved in boxing headlines as much as his son in recent weeks and now he has been called out by a second man, this time Francis Ngannou’s coach.

Fury Sr has long been going back and forth with Carl Froch after Froch tore into Tyson’s CV in the wake of him getting cut in sparring and having to delay the undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk until May 18.

Eventually, the two began to talk about a charity fight at Wembley Stadium but of course that eventually died down.

John, 59, infamously called out legendary former champion Mike Tyson at the press conference before his son’s fight against Ngannou back in October and now Dewey Cooper has responded to that.

He is a former two-time kickboxing world champion who is just 49 years of age and told Mirror Fighting he would be ready to go if challenged.

“John Fury wanted to fight Mike Tyson, that’s a big fight and would make a lot of money. I don’t blame him, why not? If he called me out, I’d definitely fight him. I’m a coach now, I’m retired from fighting but I train and I can definitely train more if I’m ignited to do such.”

He went on to say he has no idea how capable Fury senior might be in the ring.

“I haven’t seen him fight because the only fighters I really watch are the legends that I grew up loving and the opponents of my fighters, so I can’t really say. I wouldn’t discount his ability because he’s Tyson Fury’s dad and Tyson is one of the greatest.

“I’m sure he can fight otherwise he wouldn’t be so confident in himself. I just need enough time to train to fight anybody, but if he wants a boxing fight I’d definitely take it. I would have to of course study him to see what he does well and try nullify that.”

It is much more likely that Cooper will be fully focussed on the final preparations with his man Ngannou ahead of his showdown with former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua on March 8, and one boxing pundit claims it will be an easy night for Joshua.
