Tyson Fury Has Two Fight Plan For Tommy: “He’s Just A Novice With Fame”

Tyson Fury was in attendance for this weekends light-heavyweight modern-classic between Anthony Yarde and Artur Beterbiev, which also saw his half-brother, Tommy face off against his next opponent, Jake Paul

Jake and Tommy will finally meet in the ring on February 26 in Saudi Arabia. Fans are hoping it will be third time lucky after two previous attempts to make the fight were scuppered by injury and Visa issues.

To build hype for the clash Paul and Fury had a fiery face off inside the ropes, before the title fight between Yarde and Beterbiev.

When face-to-face, Paul reminded Tommy that his famous fighting family will β€˜disown’ him should he lose.

Sitting at the top of that family is the WBC and lineal heavyweight champion of the world, Tyson Fury.

In an interview with iFL TV, Tyson warned both men what’s at stake.

β€œI’m really glad that this fights been made, finally they get it over the line, it’s been about two years I think in the making.

When you talk a lot you’ve got to back it up. Tommy and Jake haver both talked a lot so they need to deliver know and make it a good fight.”

Tyson clearly doesn’t subscribe to the fact that his half-brother will be the boxer test Paul have been criticised for not yet facing.

β€œThey need to go in there and smash each other up. They’re not some badass slick, Sugar Ray Leonard boxers. They’re just two novices with fame and popularity so they should go in there and have a slug feast and smash lumps out of each other.”

If Tommy does get the win, Tyson doesn’t believe he should look towards a British title, but should instead stick to the YouTube and celebrity opponents.

β€œIf he beats Jake Paul, I’d like to see him fight his brother Logan and then fight maybe a British celebrity, KSI maybe.”

The fight has been confirmed for 185lbs and scheduled for 8 rounds. Paul has also revealed there is a rematch clause, but only if he loses.
