While their undisputed showdown may have been pushed back until May, the war of words between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk shows no signs of slowing down.
The pair were expected to meet this weekend in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, before a cut suffered by Fury in sparring earlier this month forced the bout to be postponed.
It will now take place on May 18th, but the boxing world has had plenty to say on the situation, ranging from doubts over Fury’s cut, and even question marks about whether there may be a mole in the camp of the Gypsy King.
Fury’s and Usyk’s teams have also become embroiled in rows, with Frank Warren aiming shots at Egis Klimas and Alex Krassyuk on Saturday night following Hamzah Sheeraz’s victory over Liam Williams.
The latest back and forth has come following a comment made from Usyk, where he says that Fury claims to be the king of kings, and the Brit has fired back at the Ukrainian in a post on Instagram.
“No I don’t claim to be king of kings, that’s Jesus Christ. I claim to be the king of boxing, and I am. You will find out on May 18 you gap teeth rabbit. Undisputed.”
While there may still be three months until the pair finally step into the ring, the bad blood between the two camps is expected to intensify over the coming weeks.
