A member of Tyson Fury’s close family has had some choice words for Deontay Wilder, after the two former rivals bumped into each other in Saudi Arabia last month.
Fury and Wilder were both at the Diriyah Arena for the former’s brother Tommy’s win over Jake Paul, and footage circulated online of the pair embracing.
However, Shane Fury, brother of Tyson, was far from impressed by Wilder when pressed on the meeting by Boxing King Media, having clearly not forgotten some of the comments made by ‘The Bronze Bomber’ in years gone by.
“Deontay Wilder is a p***k. Deontay Wilder has talked about my brother for two years, and when he saw him face to face he came over and cuddled him like a b****.”
“Those are the facts of the matter.”
Fury and Wilder shared one of the greatest heavyweight trilogies in recent memory, the final edition of which took place in 2021 when the Brit stopped Wilder in the eleventh round of an epic back and forth battle.
That was his second consecutive stoppage win over Wilder, with the first fight scored controversially as a draw.
After his loss in the rematch, Wilder accused team Fury of everything from spiking his water to tampering with gloves, seemingly unable to accept he was beaten by the better man on the night.
There was remarkable talk of a fourth fight between the two this April, as a potential undisputed clash between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk hangs in the balance.
As the cited date of April 29th draws ever nearer, many worry that the historic fight may not happen and thus speculation has emerged on who Fury will fight instead.
As well as Wilder, ‘The Gypsy King’ has been linked to bouts with Andy Ruiz Jr and former UFC star Francis Ngannou.
