Jake Paul has flown into London to come face to face with his February 26 opponent, Tommy Fury – but he bumped into another family member first.
The controversial YouTuber-turned-fighter has organised a fight with Tommy for the third time after their two previously scheduled bouts fell through.
The deal represents an intriguing prospect given that Paul’s detractors have long been calling for him to face a ‘real boxer.’ So far in his six-fight career, the American has faced three retired MMA stars, a YouTuber and a basketballer.
Fury is of a similar age and weight, and has had eight professional fights in a career that was paused for an appearance on UK’s Love Island. All in all, it’s a match made in heaven.
Determined to make this one work, Paul is in attendance at the Queensberry and BT Sport show tonight – Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde – to kick start the promotion for the Saudi Arabia hosted fight.
Backstage, he bumped into ‘The Gypsy King’, who will be likely be helping his brother train. Fury said into a Paul-held microphone that a loss for either man was catastrophic.
“They’re both undefeated. Whoever loses is pretty much f***ed, I’d say. There’s not a lot to say. It’s like me – when you speak a lot of s**t you’ve got to back it up. I’ve been doing this for years, thirty odd times in a row. And now it’s time for the big boys to do it. I’m excited. I’m really excited for this.”

Things were cordial – especially as Fury’s kids were in there getting a photo with Paul – but that’s likely to change when Tommy enters the building.
The last time they met was in Dubai after a lacklustre exhibition for the Brit. They started a shouting match which culminated in Tommy and Tyson’s father, John, disrobing and threatening to fight Jake Paul bare knuckle.
Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that tonight.
