Tyson Fury Excited For Upcoming Heavyweight Fight: “Somebody Is Getting Knocked Out”

WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, is looking forward to this week’s clash between Joseph Parker and Faiga Opelu, and will be attending the event in Melbourne to support his training partner, Parker.

Former WBO champion, Parker, is seeking to mount another charge towards the heavyweight title under the guidance of trainer Andy Lee, whom he appointed in early 2021.

Since the switch, Parker has shown a marked improvement, twice defeating Derek Chisora and putting in a sterling but ultimately bested effort against Joe Joyce before cruising to victory in his most recent outing against Jack Massey.

Now, Parker returns to Australasia, where he will fight in Australia for the first time in his professional career against Samoa’s Opelu.

In the press conference ahead of the event, Fury took to the stage to reveal his excitement and expectation of Parker, as shared by Jai McAllister Boxing.

“Joe is a good boxer, he is a former world heavyweight champion, he has been training over in Morecambe with me for a few years now. He puts in a lot of hard work in the gym, he is very dedicated.

He has been training very hard with a different strength and conditioning guy this time, George Lockhart, who is also a nutritionist, and I have seen a massive change in Joe. His body shape, I’ve never seen him as ripped before, or in as good of a shape.”

“So, I’m excited for the fight and I know that this lad [Opelu] comes to fight as well, he is a big puncher and he has had some good knockouts. So, I’m expecting fireworks and if it’s not fireworks then, f***ing hell. It’s a heavyweight fight, get stuck in, someone is getting knocked the f*** out!”

Parker and Opelu will face off on Wednesday at the Margaret Court Arena, and is available to watch on Kayo Sports PPV.
