Tyson Fury has congratulated Jake Paul on his recent boxing exploits as rumours of a fight between the Internet personality and Fury’s brother Tommy continue.
The WBC heavyweight champion has been in America during the build-up to his third encounter with Deontay Wilder on July 24 in Las Vegas and has spent some time training with MMA star Nick Diaz.
Fury was speaking to TMZ recently and says once he is “done with Wilder and Joshua” he wants to face current UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. ‘The Gypsy King’ was also asked about the Paul brothers and their impact on the sweet science.
“I’ve been pretty impressed with the Pauls, the brothers, both of them to be fair. A good breath of fresh air to the boxing scene,” he said.
Tyson believes that a fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will happen soon and was asked for his prediction should it materialise.
“I think Tommy knocks him out cold. I think he’s [Jake Paul] a decent fighter but I know Tommy’s a dynamite puncher.”
Tommy Fury, who is promoted by Frank Warren, is no stranger to fame outside of boxing having participated in the fifth season of the hit reality show Love Island. The 22-year-old, nicknamed ‘TNT’ has racked up six wins from six fights since making his professional debut in December 2018.
Paul returns to the ring for his fourth bout on August 1 against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
