Tyson Fury was unhappy as he gave his immediate reaction to suffering a defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in their undisputed heavyweight title fight on Saturday.
Fury gave his instant thoughts in the ring after the fight, and he felt that he had done enough to win and was robbed in the fight.
“I believe I won that fight. He won a few of the rounds but I won the majority of them and it was one of those decisions in boxing.
“We both put on a good fight, the best we could do. His country is at war, so people are siding with the country at war, but make no mistake, I won that fight. I will be back, we have a rematch clause.
“I’ll be back, I’ve got a rematch clause. For sure, we go back. Have a little rest up, spend some time with my family and we go again in October.”
It was the first defeat of Fury’s career, with a rematch between the two men now expected to take place later this year during Riyadh Season in October.
It was a competitive bout between the two men, with Fury having success during the middle rounds, before Usyk began to take over in the second half of the fight.
Usyk dropped Fury in the ninth round after a barrage of shots, and while the Gypsy King managed to recover, it was Usyk who came out on top by split decision, after the judges scored it 115-112 Usyk, 114-113 Fury, 114-113 Usyk.
It is believed that the rematch will not be for the undisputed titles though, with the IBF belt expected to become immediately vacant due to the mandatory status of Filip Hrgovic.
