Tyson Fury’s auditions for an opponent continue as he gets closer to a touted September fight date.
The WBC Heavyweight champion has struggled to find a dance partner with both his fellow champion, Oleksandr Usyk, and domestic rival, Anthony Joshua, ruled out for the time-being.
That’s led him to consider all options for a fight he is seemingly desperate to happen.
The latest call out is from one Jarrell Miller – an almost-opponent for Joshua before failing doping tests for various substances.
Having served a ban for another violation, ‘Big Baby’ is back fighting and looking for big nights under the lights. He took to Instagram to address Fury directly.
“It’s your boy Big Baby Miller here, the original, one and only, king of talking s**t and backing it up. Listen, man, this is to my boy Gypsy King aka Tyson Fury. I heard you’re looking for an opponent? Let’s cut the s**t.
You know who the best and biggest option is … Nothing personal, just business. Your people call my people, work on them dollar signs and we get it cracking.”
“It’d be my official honour to beat your ass and give you your first loss.”
Fury then shared Miller’s post with some ‘thinking’ emojis, apparently considering the prospect of it or testing the waters for the fan response.
Miller has recorded three victories since his return to the sport following the doping scandal, the most recent being a TKO win over Lucas Browne in Dubai.
He has previously sparred Fury and is yet to take a loss himself, but a pro fight against the champ would be far and away the toughest step up of his career – one most will feel is undeserved, especially given the fact he doesn’t feature in the WBC’s top fifteen.
