Tyson Fury has categorically ruled out facing one of the heavyweight division’s top contenders – saying there is “zero chance” of the fight happening.
Fury hasn’t been seen in a ring since last December, when he defeated old foe Derek Chisora for a third time in front of 60,000 fans at Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London.
That was the third defense of his WBC belt that he won in a rematch against Deontay Wilder back in 2021 after their first clash ended in a controversial draw. ‘The Gypsy King’ went on to face Wilder for a third time after the American’s team won an arbitration ruling, forcing Fury into a trilogy fight.
Once again the undefeated Brit came out on top, knocking Wilder out in the eleventh round after a thrilling back and forth battle.
Speaking to Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s First Take, Fury was asked if he would ever consider a fourth fight against ‘The Bronze Bomber’, and his response left no room for interpretation.
“Zero possibilities. I already spanked him three times – you know I won the first fight.
First one I kicked his a**, second two I knocked his a** out. I give him a hell of a beating three times so he’d have to be stupid to want to fight me again, that’s for sure.”
Fury will be back in action next month as he takes on former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou in a crossover fight in Saudi Arabia on October 28. Although the result will go on both records, the WBC title will not be on the line in what will be Ngannou’s first ever professional boxing match.
