As the undisputed fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk draws ever near, the trainer of ‘The Gypsy King’ has been speaking about a potential game plan.
Fury will need to be at his very best for this fight, much like he was when he first won a world title back in 2015 when he took on the then long-reining world champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Fury is the current WBC world champion but last time out in October against Francis Ngannaou he was put down on the canvas by the boxing novice and only narrowly got the points win over 10 rounds.
Now he faces skilled southpaw Usyk, himself undefeated, and a former undisputed cruiserweight champion who has come up in weight and beaten Anthony Joshua twice and knocked out Daniel Dubois.
Ahead of the fight, Fury’s coach Sugar Hill Steward has been speaking to Boxing Social about the contest.
“I’ve thought about everything possible. I don’t just wake up and say oh, knockout, that’s it. I do have a brain that I use. I do a lot of thinking. I have to think of everything that could happen, should happen, maybe happen. I put all that together and make it work.”
He was then asked what impressed him about Usyk.
“His ability to win impresses me, how he can create winning situations. I don’t care if he knocks everybody out or not. He knows how to win, clearly, he’s undefeated, same as Tyson. That’s what interests me, the two brains.”
As well as the main event, an impressive undercard has also been fully revealed recently.
