Vasyl Lomachenko is once again world champion as he stopped George Kambosos to win the IBF and IBO lightweight titles.
The two men went head to head at the RAC Arena in Perth, and it was yet another dominant performance from the Ukrainian superstar.
Lomachenko dominated the action, and in round 11 dropped his opponent twice with huge body shots, leading to a TKO victory and seeing the pound-for-pound icon hold world honours again for the first time since 2020.

It sees Lomachenko extend his professional record to 18-3, following his remarkable amateur record of 396-1, and he was delighted to earn a stoppage win.
“It looked like a knockout today, not ‘No-Mas-Chenko.’ But, you know, we trained hard for this moment. I want to thank my opponent. He is a strong man and a true warrior.
“My plan was to adjust to my opponent. This is what I did during the fight. I knew I needed to finish strong. And in the last three rounds, I was trying to find his body.
I never ran around during my boxing career. I always take fights. Right now, I want to come back to my home, spend time with my family, and after I rest a little bit, we can talk about my future.”
Despite the loss, Kambosos was extremely gracious in defeat.
“He’s a true champion. He’s a legend of the sport. I give him the utmost respect. We knew what we are coming up against, and I tried my best. But it wasn’t enough today.
He’s one of the best fighters in history. So, I’m not ashamed. I wanted to finish the fight on my feet. I wanted to finish the rounds like I always do. But there’s no shame in losing to a man like Lomachenko.”
Fans have already began debating what could be next for Lomachenko, with potential fights against the likes of Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez all suggested.
On the undercard in Australia, Pedro Guevara beat Andrew Moloney by split decision to win the WBC Interim super-flyweight title, and Cherneka Johnson defeated Nina Hughes for the WBA bantamweight title.
