Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin has been added to this Saturday’s show in Cardiff headlined by Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Williams.
Wallin will face the durable Kamil Sokolowski (11-24-2, 4 KOs) over six rounds.
“It’ll be good to get a fight and get off some of the ring rust and then hopefully soon get a bigger fight. I’m just happy to be fighting again,” said Wallin.
It has been nearly one year since the 31-year-old last fought when he comfortably beat Dominic Breazeale over 12 rounds.
Last October Wallin was set to face Dillian Whyte for his WBC Interim title but the fight was called off with just under two weeks until fight night. A shoulder injury had forced the British bruiser to withdraw. Team Wallin had hopes of seeing the bout rescheduled but they never materialised. Whyte now looks forward to a shot at the full version of the WBC title against champion Tyson Fury after last week’s drawn-out negotiations which eventually went to purse bids won by Queensbury and Top Rank.
Last month Sokolowski lost to Ukrainian prospect Ihor Shevadzutskyi but two weeks earlier caused an upset beating George Fox, another heavyweight up and comer.
