Promoter Frank Warren says he hopes to see Tommy Fury’s postponed bout with Jake Paul rescheduled for early 2022.
Fury, promoted by Warren, was due to face Paul in Tampa on December 18, but withdrew due to a combination of illness and injury.
Paul instead rematched five-time UFC champion Tyron Woodley – scoring a brutal sixth-round knockout on Showtime pay-per-view.
“We will be looking to reschedule in early 2022,” Warren said to Sky Sports. “Jake said that Tommy Fury was ‘lucky’ he wasn’t in there but really Tommy was extremely unlucky to miss out with his injury.
“A fit Tommy Fury is a very different proposition to Tyron Woodley.”
