Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk battled it out for the historic undisputed title this past weekend and now it has been revealed what they said to each other in the ring after the fight.
Both of these hugely talented and unbeaten fighters put it all on the line out in Saudi Arabia this past weekend. It was a technical, all-action fight that saw Usyk come forward with relentless work for 12 rounds.
He came through one or two sticky moments and managed to land a huge hook on Fury that sent him spiralling around the ring although the ropes held him up and he took an eight count on his feet in the ninth round.
Usyk ended up with a split decision win in the cards to claim all of the belts in the divisions, six years after he also cleared out the cruiserweight division.
Speaking to Boxing King Media, Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk has revealed what the fighters said to one another after the contest.
“They had a very nice conversation after the fight, Tyson said I want to come to Ukraine, I want to take my children and my wife and come to Ukraine and stay at your place and I want you to pick up your family and come to Morecambe to drink beer for several days. They hugged each other and had a warm embrace and agreed to do so, maybe not before the rematch, maybe after that.”
He then gave his view on how Usyk and Fury will get on in future.
“I think they will be friends, there is a lot of respect, Tyson is a nice person, all respect to him, he did a great job promoting the fight, pushing up the ratings. His performance was outstanding, you can’t take it away, 12 rounds at that speed, I did not predict this. My prediction was a KO in round 9. It wasn’t a secret. But I think the referee stole it.”
