Oleksandr Usyk Reveals His Greatest of All Time in Boxing

Oleksandr Usyk cemented his legacy as one of the greatest cruiserweight in boxing history when he cleared out the competition by winning the World Boxing Super Series, defeating the likes of Marco Huck Mairis Briedis, and Murat Gassiev along the way, before lapping the elite competition at heavyweight, defeating Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, and Daniel Dubois twice each.

The Ukraine king returns to the ring on May 23 for a novelty fight against Rico Verhoeven atop a DAZN pay-per-view at the Pyramids of Giza, in Egypt. And though it remains a significant step-down from the considerable opposition he’s fought to date, Usyk remains one of the greatest fighters of the post-Floyd Mayweather era.

But, when speaking to Mail Online during a recent interview, Usyk made no secret of his own personal GOAT is — selecting the former three-time world heavyweight champion, Muhammad Ali, for the honor.

Usyk had four options for each of the fighters Mail Online presented him with, from good to great, God, and then GOAT.

With Ali locking up the top spot, and nobody deserving God-status in Usyk’s mind, there was congestion among the greats, with Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, George Foreman, and Fury at that level, according to Oleksandr.

That left good, with Deontay Wilder and Joshua on the bottom rung.
