WBC Interim heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte will return against an opponent to be announced at the O2 Arena on October 30.
The Brixton banger will be seeking to press his heavyweight championship claims with his first fight in the UK since his shock fifth-round KO to Alexander Povetkin 13 months ago, behind closed doors at the first series of Fight Camp. That defeat was subsequently avenged in four rounds in Gibraltar in March.
“Save the date – he is back!!!” tweeted Whyte’s promoter Eddie Hearn. “After more than two years away from UK fans on home soil, Dillian Whyte is back at The O2 [on] October 30.
“Get ready for a huge show in London. Full card dropping soon @Daznboxing.”
American heavyweights Jermaine Franklin and Charles Martin have previously been mooted as potential opponents.
