Deontay Wilder Fires Shots At Joshua Again But Stays Humble Towards Tyson Fury

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder believes Anthony Joshua is “terrified” of getting in the ring with him.

Via a Boxnation Podcast, the American tore into British boxing’s poster boy.

“I know Joshua thinks about it all the time, probably when he sleeps, he thinks about ‘one day this is going to end’, and it could end with Deontay Wilder. I’m the biggest threat in Joshua’s career,” said Wilder.

Both undefeated champions hold devastating knock-out records, but the “Bronze Bomber” insists he has the edge over the Olympic gold medallist.

“I think Joshua is scared to fight me. When you have a guy like me who knocks guys out with a one-punch knockout, you’re going to be terrified,” said Wilder.

Before talks of unification can begin, both men have tricky contests to navigate. Luis Ortiz represents Wilder’s toughest fight to date when they clash in March, four months on from the Cuban failing a drugs test. And Joshua meets WBO champion Joseph Parker – a matchup that’s sold over 70,000 tickets, reaffirming ‘AJ’ as one of the biggest draws in boxing.

One man, however, not on Wilder’s radar is former Ring Magazine heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, he admitted:

“As a boxer, I’m not too fond of his awkward style. When you’re awkward, it’s very hard for people to beat you.

When you have a guy who’s awkward, whether he’s southpaw or orthodox, you’ve got trouble on your hands because you don’t know what this guy’s going to do and what time he’s going to do it in,” Wilder commented.

Recent social media activity suggests “The Furious One” is enjoying his boxing again, even declaring love for Mondays.

With Fury back in the mix, 2018 promises to be an exciting year in the “glamour” division.
