Deontay Wilder, the big punching WBC Heavyweight Champion, has hit back at rumours that he was knocked out in sparring by Wladimir Klitschko.
The claims surfaced in a recent interview with respected UK boxing analyst Johnny Nelson.
The American fighter took particular offense to Nelson’s assertions that he’d been ‘knocked out cold twice,’ as well as being dropped a further time by a shot to the body.
Johnny Nelson, himself a former cruiserweight world champion, also implied that Wilder may lack the required appetite to fight Anthony Joshua in a unification fight.
In Wilder’s quick response, he certainly appears to have the required heart and desire for a fight with Joshua.
As to the validity of Nelson’s claim? For now, the jury’s out…
