Eddie Hearn Done Trying To Make Wilder-Whyte? – “I’m Not Focused On Whyte, Wilder Is Fighting Breazeale Next”

Dillian Whyte has been doing his best to get a shot against Deontay Wilder and it hasn’t been easy.

‘The Body Snatcher’ captured the vacant WBC Silver heavyweight belt against Robert Helenius in Cardiff on the Joshua-Takam undercard. Whyte and Eddie Hearn were positive the win and Whyte’s two other WBC belts in his possession would have catapulted him against Wilder.

But the WBC clearly had other plans.

The World Boxing Council ordered a surprising title eliminator fight between Dominick Breazeale and Eric Molina, both ranked outside the top five. Breazeale claimed the mandatory challenger spot on Saturday by stopping Molina.

The decision by the WBC to shove Whyte aside gained negativity and Wilder now has to face Breazeale next according to WBC rules. Should Wilder want to fight Whyte or Joshua instead of Breazeale, he would need to get a reprieve from the WBC.

Due to Breazeale’s victory, Hearn might have given up on making the fight between Whyte and Wilder happen.

But Whyte also came out with a couple of interesting tweets of his own. He, sure enough, has not given up on chasing ‘The Bronze Bomber’ and is still calling Wilder out, claiming that Breazeale-Molina was not a final title eliminator fight.

Unfortunately for Whyte, there hasn’t been any confirmation or announcement from the WBC which would state other than the fact that it was a final eliminator bout and Breazeale is next in line.

Still, Whyte is focused on getting a crack at the WBC World heavyweight champion. He’s ready to fight Wilder in February at the O2.

After his knockout victory over Bermane Stiverne, Wilder made it clear that he wants nothing to do with Whyte, calling him ‘a peasant’.

“King’s don’t chase peasants. They trying to give me the peasant without the king on the contract. I want Joshua,” stated Wilder during his post fight speech.
