Liam Williams believes he has Chris Eubank Jr rattled ahead of their clash in Cardiff on Saturday.
The two middleweights have made no secret of the fact they dislike each other, and the Welshman spoke to Boxing Social’s Andi Purewal like a man who had his rival already beaten outside the ring.
Williams moved from Dominic Ingle’s gym to Adam Booth’s recently and Saturday night will be their first fight together. There is a sub-plot, however. Eubank Jr was briefly trained by Booth who also trains Harlem Eubank, cousin to Chris. A topic of conversation that has featured in interviews with Jr who is unhappy that Booth is working with his relation as well as his bitter rival.
“I was probably under his skin already before Adam come into the picture,” said Williams whose pursuit of a fight against Eubank Jr began on Twitter.
“You don’t really see Junior acting pissed off normally. I’m definitely under his skin. I’m glad. We’ll have it out and see who comes out on top.”
Willams is the 5/2 underdog with BetFred but the former world title challenger is confident of doing a job on Eubank Jr.
“I picture me boxing his head off and then potentially stopping him,” he said.
“I just keep envisioning myself end of the fight hand raised, that’s all that matters to me. How the fight ends it don’t really matter.”
