Zhilei Zhang has been speaking about Tyson Fury and claimed that ‘he runs his mouth.’
Zhang is preparing for his next fight which is on March 8 on the undercard of Anthony Joshua versus Francis Ngannou out in Saudi Arabia. It is against Joseph Parker who is coming off the back of a huge points win over Deontay Wilder late last year.
2023 was also fruitful for ‘Big Bang’ who twice managed to stop the previously unbeaten Brit, Joe Joyce. Those two back-to-back wins catapulted him up the rankings and into contention for some huge fights.
He has since spoken about his desire to fight the big names, including Fury, who is next out on May 18 when he takes on Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.
Now, speaking to IFL TV, he has given his verdict on the WBC and lineal champion and the cut he got late in sparring which delayed the fight.
“My personal opinion is that anything can happen in sparring and when you’re preparing for a fight in sparring you could get a cut, it could happen, let’s see, one day we will find out.
“When it comes to Tyson Fury he runs his mouth, he changes up here and there. I’m not saying he made the cut himself but there are so many variables running up to the May 18 fight, anything could happen.”
A fight at some point down the line between Zhang and Fury is one many boxing fans would love to see.
