Tyson Fury, the ‘Gypsy King’, is the current WBC world heavyweight champion and has held the title since 2020. The 35-year-old is currently unbeaten and has only one draw on his record, that being to Deontay Wilder in a split points decision result in the first of their three fights, of which Fury won the final two.

The Manchester-born, 6 foot 9 inches tall giant has competed in two trilogies during his professional boxing career, the other being to popular active heavyweight, Derek Chisora.

Arguably the most notable of Fury’s career victories was against former world heavyweight champion, Ukraine’s Wladimir Klitschko.

On 23rd April 2022, approximately 94,000 boxing fans crowded London’s Wembley Stadium to witness Tyson Fury stun Dillian Whyte with an uppercut in the sixth round.

In his last fight, Fury went toe-to-toe with MMA underdog, Francis Ngannou, as part of Saudi Arabia’s ‘Riyadh Season’ in an event known as ‘Battle of the Baddest.’ Riyadh Season is an annual, state-funded entertainment and sports festival in the country’s capital, between October and March.

Although this was anticipated to be a spectacle but one-sided boxing match, Ngannou proved that the power he carried as a mixed martial artist is indeed transferable, flooring Fury in the third round with a left hook. The Gypsy King Tyson Fury continued on to victory in the fight, winning by way of split points decision.

Tyson Fury’s Next Fight & Family

The father of seven children and devoted husband of Paris Fury will come up against unified world heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk, in his next fight on Saturday, 18th May 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The winner of this fight will become the first undisputed world heavyweight champion since 1999 when Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield by unanimous decision.

The fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk was initially due to take place on Saturday, 17th February in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, however was postponed due to a cut sustained by Fury in a sparring session.

Tyson Fury’s family are also incredibly well-known in the boxing world. His father, John Fury, is heavily involved in the fighting sport, although not an active fighter himself, he has recently been headlining boxing news for calling out former professional boxer, Carl Froch.
