For burgeoning novice boxer Emmanuel ‘Jimuel’ Pacquiao Jr. there are two reasons why his famous father, Manny, defeats Floyd Mayweather in their prospective rematch.
There is, however, a back-and-forth between the career rivals over what the do-over actually is. Whether it’s a fully sanctioned fist-fight, or an exhibition — something Pacquiao seemingly refuses to want to engage in, and which counters what Netflix had marketed the fight as, specifically referring to the September showdown as a pro bout.
“My dad’s going to get the win if it’s a real fight,” Jimuel told Fight Hub recently.
Jimuel is following in the footsteps of Manny, as the 25-year-old turned professional in 2025 in the first MP Promotions event in the United State4s, but had to settle for a majority draw against Brendan Lally. The boxer, though, got off to a winning start earlier this month, April 3, when he finished Darrick Gates in the second of four rounds at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula.
Following the fight, he told Fight Hub and other reporters the two reasons why Pacquiao beats Mayweather if their rematch proceeded as planned.
“He’s been way more active, I think he’s in better shape, and I think he’s going to win that fight,” he said.
“People will say it’s a real fight, and now Floyd is saying it’s not so, right now, I don’t know. I’m just as clueless as everybody … I guess he doesn’t want to ruin that undefeated record.
Even a Former Ally of Floyd Mayweather Picks Manny Pacquiao

A Boxing Social source who has worked with Mayweather, 49, on numerous fights told us similar to what Jimuel recently said — that he’d struggle to compete with Pacquiao who may only be two years younger at 47, but, as our source said, is far more active in the sport, and is giving champions Mario Barrios all kinds of hell, while Mayweather toys around in the exhibition circuit.
If the fight were to proceed, it would be one of the year’s biggest events, however, the mixed messaging from Pacquiao, MP Promotions exec Jas Mathur, and Netflix, against Mayweather, has not helped captivate the audience. Instead, Mayweather risks turning people away from the show unless clarity is immediately provided as to whether the fight is real, or not.
