In the latest boxing news today, it seems there’s another update in Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury super-fight negotiations, with pivotal event organizer, Matchroom chairman Eddie Hearn, dropping bombshell after bombshell.
The fight could be signed and sealed within a week, according to a report we filed earlier on Boxing Social.
It follows a two-fight deal Turki Alalshikh reportedly presented Hearn and Joshua over a two-fight deal, with the second of those bouts, tentatively scheduled for November, to be against Tyson. That fight could trigger a contractually-mandated rematch clause should one party trigger the do-over.
It is unclear, as of yet, whom the opponent could be for the first fight, linked for the summer. However, Joshua and Fury could explore Deontay Wilder, who continued his comeback this year with a double-knockdown decision win over Derek Chisora.
Both Wilder and Fury have been linked with Joshua for years. And though both are late, it could still be a banner year for Joshua should he book both fights — and win them.
Fury vs Joshua is Not The Only Big Bout This Year

2026 could deliver numerous bangers, as Joshua vs Wilder, or AJ against Fury, aren’t the only bangers the year might produce.
Multiple reports, from Dan Rafael to Boxing Scene and Ring Magazine suggest Errol Spence Jr. will fight for the first time in three years when he returns to the ring on July 25 (in the United States) for a match versus Tim Tszyu in Australia (where the fight takes place July 26).
Spence hasn’t boxed since his lopsided ninth-round knockout loss he dropped to an in-form, merciless Terence Crawford at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in 2023.
Crawford continued to fight, against Israil Madrimov in 2024, and then Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez the following year, before retiring forever, unbeaten.
Which Leaves us With Canelo

When speaking to Ring Magazine, trainer-manager Eddy Reynoso said his most famous pupil-client, Canelo Alvarez, will continue his career at super middleweight, while praising Christian Mbili as a possible opponent.
Canelo hasn’t fought since Crawford defeated him in September, 2025. He was always swerving Cinco de Mayo, and linked with a bout on Mexican Independence Day weekend. Mbili may well be the opponent.
