Don Charles claims Daniel Dubois proved critics wrong against Fabio Wardley

Don Charles has ranted out on critics of Daniel Dubois following his brutal stoppage victory over Fabio Wardley. He insisted that nobody can question the heavyweight’s heart ever again.

For years, Dubois has faced criticism from some boxing fans and analysts who labeled him a “quitter” after previous defeats.

That narrative resurfaced again after Wardley dropped him within the opening seconds of their heavyweight clash and forced another knee in the third round.

However, Dubois responded by battling back through adversity and dominated the fight after the third round, eventually stopping Wardley in round 11 to capture the WBO heavyweight title in one of the most brutal heavyweight fights of the year.

Don Charles says Dubois erased all doubts

Speaking after the fight, now posted by FightHub TV, Charles passionately defended his fighter while addressing the criticism Dubois has faced throughout his career.

“No human being on this planet could ever question this kid ever again,” Charles said.

The veteran trainer made it clear that he no longer wants to hear doubts regarding Dubois’ toughness or mentality.

“Certainly don’t question him in front of me,” he added.

Charles believes Dubois completely silenced the negative narrative surrounding him during the war against Wardley.

“What he showed tonight, he erased any doubt of all the negative talk.”

Dubois overcame adversity against Wardley

The fight itself became the perfect example of Dubois’ mental and physical toughness.

After being knocked down within the first 10 seconds and taking another knee in round three

Following a massive right hand, many believed Dubois was heading toward defeat.

Instead, the former heavyweight champion steadily regained control of the fight with relentless pressure, heavy combinations, and crushing right hands that repeatedly hurt Wardley.

By the later rounds, Wardley’s face was badly damaged, with one eye almost completely swollen shut as Dubois continued marching forward.

Charles admitted that, in some ways, the difficult nature of the fight allowed Dubois to finally prove his mentality publicly.

“It’s almost like, because we were victorious, I’m glad the fight went that way,” Charles said.

“You know why? So he could demonstrate this quitting narrative. It’s not. We know he’s not.”

Charles praises both heavyweights after ‘epic’ battle

Despite the violent exchanges throughout the fight, Charles also praised Wardley for his toughness and his willingness to keep fighting.

“The opponent, Fabio, what a warrior,” Charles said.

He also emphasized how important it was that both heavyweights came out of the contest healthy after such a brutal encounter.

“Daniel, what a warrior. He’s healthy. That’s the most important.”

Charles described the fight as a true gladiator-style battle between two heavyweights refusing to back down.

“Both came out of that gruelling, epic,” he said.

“Luckily, the two gladiators came out intact. That’s the most important.”

Dubois and Wardley delivered one of the most entertaining fights of the heavyweight division. They could meet again in the ring as Frank Warren revealed that there is a rematch clause in the contract
