Keyshawn Davis Calls Out Devin Haney Ahead of Nahir Albright Rematch

With his move to 140 pounds already producing back to back stoppages, Keyshawn Davis is now looking beyond Nahir Albright and toward one of boxing’s most debated names at the moment: Devin Haney.

Davis (14-0, 10 KOs) returns home to Norfolk, Virginia on May 16 for a rematch against Albright (17-2-1, 7 KOs) at Scope Arena, but during a recent interview with Boxing Social, the former lightweight champion made it clear that Haney remains high on his wish list.

“I wanna fight Devin Haney,” Davis said. “His father told me to stand on my word and I’m doing it, so I’m just waiting for them to stand on theirs.”

The timing of the callout adds intrigue as Haney’s future remains uncertain. Reports and speculation around Haney potentially negotiating opportunities connected to Zuffa have fueled questions about whether the former undisputed lightweight champion could shift further into crossover territory or continue pursuing marquee boxing events. At the same time, fans still continue calling for a rematch between Haney and Ryan Garcia following their chaotic first meeting and its fallout.

Davis acknowledged the demand for those fights, including a potential showdown between Haney and Shakur Stevenson, but believes his own name belongs in that conversation.

“When you say Devin Haney versus Keyshawn Davis, that is a sellout event,” Davis said. “People is actually gonna tune in to watch the fight. Let’s make it happen Devin.”

Before any major showdown can materialize, Davis still has unfinished business with Albright, the Philadelphia contender who has quietly rebuilt momentum since their first meeting. Albright handed Keyshawn’s brother, Kelvin Davis, his first professional loss and later fought Frank Martin to a draw earlier this year.

Despite criticism from some fans over the matchup, Davis defended Albright while also admitting the rematch was largely a direction pushed by Top Rank.

“If it was my choice I would have chose a tougher opponent, but we went with Top Rank’s choice,” Davis said.

Still, Davis warned people not to underestimate Albright after many were surprised by his performance against Martin.

“People is just not familiar with Nahir,” Davis said. “I honestly had him winning that fight.”

Even with that respect, Davis is predicting another violent ending. The Norfolk native said he expects Albright to become the fourth straight opponent he stops as he continues settling into the super lightweight division.

The event also continues the rise of DB3, the Davis brothers’ growing family boxing brand. Alongside Keyshawn, both Kelvin Davis and younger brother Keon Davis are scheduled to compete on the card. Davis credited Kelvin for originally creating the DB3 concept before turning it into a broader promotional movement for the family.

While Davis has become the face of the group due to his Olympic pedigree and rapid rise, he pushed back on the idea that his brothers are trailing behind him.

“They right with me right now,” Davis said. “On May 16th, 3 and 0, all stoppages.”
