Former four-weight world champion, Adrien Broner, has had a tough few years both in and out of the ring, with just one win since February 2017 and numerous altercations with the police. However, things are starting to look up for ‘AB’, as he has just announced a new deal with up-and-coming promotional company, BLK Prime.
The streaming service is looking to penetrate an expensive and crowded market over the coming months, and made a huge statement by agreeing a deal for pound-for-pound superstar Terence Crawford to fight David Avanesyan on their platform this December. They have now added Adrien Broner to their ranks with an astounding eight-figure deal, as per the American’s announcement on his Instagram.
“I can start back talking like this again in public, because I got just signed a twelve-month, three-fight deal and eight-figures guaranteed with BLK Prime.”
In an interview with FightHype.com, Broner was clearly grateful to sign with BLK Prime.
“This is a very, very special time for me, I’m very grateful for this. I’ve been through a lot of situations, and I always thank God, especially for this day today. I had a lot of up and downs in the sport, but he always finds another way to give me another chance to take over boxing.”
“I think with myself, with my ‘About Billions’ brand and BLK Prime, I think we are going to take over boxing and reach heights that have never been done before. It’s all going to start, with my now stablemate from Nebraska, Terence Crawford, he fights December 10th.”
It remains to be seen if Broner can rediscover the form that he was previously known for before his extended periods out of the ring, but with such a backing behind him, this is his best and perhaps last chance. It will also be intriguing to see just who BLK Prime go after next, and how they fare in the long term compared to the likes of Triller.
