Boxing Social has one of the best teams of combat sports reporters in the game, including rising star Carlos Linares from Florida, who has broken news, dropped scoops, and offered expert analysis across a broad range of subjects since he joined our team.
It started with Linares’s post here about Golden Boy Promotions boss, Oscar de la Hoya, and Muhammad Ali’s grandson-boxer Nico Ali Walsh, warning the Senate while TKO Group executive Nick Khan defended the UBO model in a key Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act hearing.
Linares added more on his X account. He said Khan was “the most prepared,” Ali Walsh “represented himself well,” but de la Hoya “underwhelmed.”
On de la Hoya, specifically, the promoter and former six-weight boxing champion expressed frustrations in this post at how Zuffa Boxing’s hearing played out.
In a separate video, he said: “We walked into a buzzsaw.”
The 53-year-old added: “Chairman [Ted] Cruz, we meet him beforehand and all he can talk about was President Donald Trump and what a great time they had at the UFC event.
“The questions felt scripted. The corruption that I felt in the room was just disgusting.”

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis Latest News on Comeback

Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis has not fought since his disputed draw he shared with Lamont Roach Jr. because of ongoing civil and legal issues regarding alleged domestic violence.
At the peak of his powers, Tank was not only one of the sport’s most thunderous punchers, but also one of its most popular. He was consistently selling out arenas, and generating pay-per-view sales in excess of 250,000 — even up to 1.2 million for his body shot knockout win over Ryan Garcia — which KingRy wants to run back.
And so it will be a boon for the sport, particularly American boxing, if and when Davis does ever fight again.
“Yes, we back in action soon,” he recently said in social media.
Soon could, admittedly, be doing a lot of heavy lifting. But he has been linked with a summer showdown. A Garcia rematch could be just the comeback.
Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford Called a Coward

And finally, it’s the end of the week, and if you want to head into the weekend with a laugh, consider the greatness Terence Crawford displayed through his career and, in particular, during his extraordinary wins over Errol Spence Jr. and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
He’s a lock for the Hall of Fame. He’ll have my vote as soon as he’s eligible for induction.
But whatever you, or I think about ‘Bud,’ well, we’re wrong. We’re losers. We don’t know s*** about boxing.
You know who does? WBC boss Mauricio Sulaimán, and he thinks Crawford is a coward.
Lol.
