Jarrell Miller wants to fight someone from the UK, and he’s leaving no stone unturned in terms of who that might be.
The controversial heavyweight was once just days away from a big-money shot at Anthony Joshua’s unified titles. It was to be ‘AJ’s coming out party to American audiences, but a doping test failure on Miller’s part made sure he wasn’t to be the man in the opposite corner.
Joshua ended up facing – and being stunned by – Andy Ruiz Jr. Miller missed his shot spectacularly, watching his reputation crumble further when, upon a potential return one year on in 2020, he tested positive again.
He was banned by the Nevada Athletic Commission and wouldn’t fight until June 2022. Now, having racked up three wins, most recently against Lucas Browne in March, Miller wants to fight a Brit.
Currently ranked at number 10 with the WBA, ‘Big Baby’ took to Instagram to namecheck as many English heavyweights as he could alongside a personalised rendition of G-Unit’s ‘I Smell P***y’ and a video of those mentioned being knocked out or stopped.
He called out Dillian Whyte, Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora and Daniel Dubois – but noticeably didn’t mention current WBC champion, Tyson Fury.
Miller may struggle, having burned promotional bridges with both Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom and Bob Arum’s Top Rank due to the past doping tests.
Having said that, both Joshua and Whyte have expressed an interest in facing him in the past, and there’s always the chance in boxing that animosity takes precedence.
Miller is looking to get out again soon, keen to get back into the swing of regular activity following the Browne stoppage. For that fight, he weighed in at an incredible 333lbs.
