Amir Khan has weighed in with a prediction for the upcoming clash between his former opponent Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Jermell Charlo.
Khan fell victim to Alvarez all the way back in 2016, when the Mexican defeated him via a brutal sixth round highlight reel knockout.
That said, Khan knows better than anyone just what ‘Canelo’ is capable of – and doesn’t believe Charlo will be able to cope with it.
In a recent interview with SecondsOut, Khan went as far to say he doesn’t see any fighter in and around Alvarez’ weight who can topple him.
“Canelo’s something else, man, Canelo’s a beast. I think he’s actually a lot quicker when he throws his combinations.”
“I think Canelo is a very good fighter, I don’t think anyone is beating Canelo.”
Most see Alvarez as a significant favourite for the clash at the T-Mobile Arena, with Charlo moving up a whole two weight divisions to challenge for the Mexican’s undisputed super middleweight crown.
Though Alvarez is expected to emerge with the victory in Las Vegas, he hasn’t looked his brilliant best in his last three showings and some observers think he could be on the slide.
As such, ‘Iron Man’ will hope and believe that he could have landed a monster pay day against the Guadalajara native at the perfect time and can become undisputed champion at a second weight class.
However, it will still definitely go down as a surprise if he was to defeat Alvarez, whom is regarded as one of the top pound for pound fighters in the sport.
