Amir Khan believes he can fill Wembley

Amir Khan seems to be making headlines but maybe not for the right reasons.

He hasn’t fought since his crushing knockout to defeat to Canelo Alvarez in May 2016. ‘King Khan’ battled a chronic hand injury and stayed inactive long enough that he got booted off from the WBC rankings. He has tried to get fights with the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Kell Brook without success. Yet, Khan believes he can still be as big of a draw as Anthony Joshua in the U.K.

A sold out Wembley with Khan headlining? He says it can be done.

“There are very few fighters from this country that could fill Wembley, and I’m definitely one of them. Kell Brook would be a fight that everyone wants to see. I’ve been selling out arenas since I was 21-years-old when I first started topping bills. I was a pay-per-view fighter when I was 20,” Khan said in an interview with Sky Sports.

Brook is fighting Errol Spence this weekend but no matter what the result, the people do want to see ‘King Khan’ versus ‘Special K’.

“Come back to Britain, put on a big show, and beat someone like Kell in a rivalry fight. Who is No 1 in the division in the UK? People don’t know who to pick, so let’s prove it,” Khan said.

Khan is expected to announce his next fight after Ramadan.
