Amir Khan got boxing fans excited with promises of a huge announcement that will be made public on Wednesday in London.
Khan has invited all media to attend as he intends to reveal his plans for 2018 that may include the name of his opponent in March.
“Amir will make a major announcement and lay out his plans to return to the ring in 2018,” stated Khan’s management in an official press release.
The former World champion and Olympian also posted a video himself about Wednesday’s press conference.

Speculations have already started regarding the announcement.
Khan hasn’t fought since 2016 when he was knocked out by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in front of a packed T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. ‘Canelo’ retained his WBC World middleweight title with a vicious knockout blow that left Khan laying lifeless on the floor.
Since the fight, Khan has had personal problems with his family and even fellow boxer Anthony Joshua, but now he is determined to get his career back on track starting with tomorrow’s announcement.
According to World Boxing News, Khan might reveal a new deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing.
The 31 year old Khan has previously made it public that he would never work with Hearn. There has been a lot of discussion about Khan fighting Kell Brook, but the Bolton boxer has made clear time and time again that he won’t fight Brook until Hearn is out of the picture.
“Completely off the table. Personally, me and Eddie Hearn do not see eye to eye. He’s messing a lot of things up for Kell Brook. Eddie Hearn tries to be the big man. Take all the credit. Look at Al Haymon. No one ever sees him. Oscar [De La Hoya]… they are so quiet behind the scenes.
“But one thing about Eddie Hearn; he likes to be at the front. He’s the one disrespecting fighters. You can’t be doing that. I don’t think that fight will ever happen,” Khan said to behindthegloves.com back in August.
If what WBN is reporting is true, things have truly changed between Khan and Hearn.
In an interview with Sky Sports last December, Hearn talked about the possibility of putting together Khan-Brook in 2018.
“I know they are both coming off losses but they are both elite fighters,” said Hearn.
“The grudge is real. It’s an all-British super fight. I’d like to see them both in the ring, getting some wins under their belts, and moving onto some huge fights.
“Amir Khan has achieved a lot in the sport and still has a lot to give. Khan-Brook is still a huge fight.
“I think Kell will return in March, I’m not sure what Amir is going to do. I’d like to see him return in March or April as well, and potentially build towards a fight in the closing period of 2018,” added Hearn.
And in terms of their personal relationship, it seems like Hearn has no issues with Khan despite his comments in August.
“People take the mickey out of him. The thing is with Amir Khan, sometimes his PR has been poor and he has come across terribly. But when you sit down with him and meet him, I’ve never left him thinking anything else but ‘he’s a nice guy’.”
