Just hours after Tim Hague suffered a fatal blow against Adam Braidwood, another boxer in South America has fallen into a coma.
Saul Peralta (9-6) fought an undefeated Elias Damian Araujo (15-0) in a fight that was far from competitive. According to The Sun, Peralta is known as a journeyman. The Argentinian came into the bout without any cornermen or coach and only brought along his wife, who didn’t any previous boxing coaching experience.
In the sixth round, he was pummelled through the ropes by Araujo and was clearly out of it.
Peralta’s wife has since informed that the boxer is unable to breathe on his own and has fallen into a coma.
“He’s still in a serious condition, in a coma, with a respirator, now the sedatives have been removed to see how he reacts, if not convulsing,” she said.
