Unified IBF, IBO and WBA (Super) world heavyweight kingpin, Anthony Joshua has been embroiled in a longstanding bitter back and forth on social media with Tyson Fury.
Barbs have been traded backwards and forward between the pair. The most recent comment coming from the Lineal world heavyweight champion ‘The Gypsy King’.
Tyson Fury stated, outlandishly he’d be prepared to face Anthony Joshua in his first professional fight since November 2015.
Joshua however has dismissed Fury’s words as nonsensical. Furthermore shared he doesn’t believe Fury’s physical condition will allow him to make good on his statements.
As a sporting challenge I Lay Down the challenge for @anthonyfjoshua to fight me in my first fight back in over 2.5 years! I'm the best heavyweight on the planet come prove I'm not? The ball is in your court don't let your fans down CHAMP👍🏼👊🏼 #wanttoseehowgoodiam

“That’s more of a fantasy at the moment. He’s not fit and he hasn’t had a fight. The ball is in his court.”
Additionally Joshua also claimed that the delay in this match-up is not down to him. Joshua explained his argument by citing his consistency.
“We’ve stayed consistent, we’ve defended the titles we’ve won and we’ve captured more titles,” Joshua said to The Daily Mail.

“If Fury was still fit, we would probably be talking about (the fight) for March. It’s not me…
I’m definitely consistent and ready to fight anyone.”
Joshua is co-promoting his first event on February 3rd alongside lead promoter Eddie Hearn, when Isaac Chamberlain and Lawrence Okolie collide in the ‘British Beef’ main event.
He spoke to the Daily Mail about how the whole opportunity presented itself and what it means going forward in his career.
“When Eddie mentioned about the opportunity of being able to sit with him and bring attention using my audience to what these guys are trying to achieve, I said it’s the perfect time for it.
But what really goes on in order to become a promoter is a whole other pedigree,” Joshua said.
“I’ve been pro now for going on four years so it’s way too early to be thinking about that but to have the opportunity and to be exposed to these types of things. I take them with both hands because it’s something I could never have imagined.”
“Everyone’s doing a good job and I think it’s impossible to be the best fighter and the best promoter. Eddie cannot be the best promoter and put on his own boxing shows.”
“He’s not a world champion. It’s a great opportunity and he said it wouldn’t take away anything from my boxing so it made sense. It’s good for me, ” ‘AJ’ concluded.
I'm excited for this one! February 3rd back at the Lions Den, who you backing to win the fight? I'm caught in the middle!! 😅 #AJBXNGpic.twitter.com/gHLk7rPEFn
