The WBC and Lineal world light heavyweight champion, Adonis Stevenson has endured some criticism over the years.
The Canadian is perceived to have taken easy fights and avoided the stellar challenges at 175 lbs.
That talk has however died down following the announcement that he will take on the former WBC super-middleweight champion, Badou Jack on May 19th.

Badou Jack began campaigning as a light heavyweight last year, following fighting James DeGale to a draw in January. In his first fight at his new weight, he dispatched Nathan Cleverley inside of five rounds to claim the WBA title at light heavyweight.
However, Jack since vacated that belt in order to seek out a chance at the famous green WBC belt.
The clash will take place on May 19th. Jack will travel to the champion’s backyard in Quebec, Canada. He is very confident in securing his goal of becoming a 3-time champion.
“I believe I’m the more skilled fighter. He’s a big puncher, so he’s dangerous. I have to be careful and watch out for (the) left hand,” Jack said to BoxingScene.com.

“But I’ve been asking for this fight. He’s one of the best in the division. People don’t like him, so they underestimate his boxing skills.
“He’s a good boxer too. Just because people don’t like him because he don’t fight the best – but he can still fight.”
“He puts on exciting fights when he fights, and I like that – but his era is over, it’s my time now.”
“He got the best belt, the green WBC belt. He’s the lineal champion, so he is one of the best. Also, him and Kovalev I consider the two top guys that I can make money and get credit for beating them.”

“But because of boxing politics, Stevenson is on my side so that’s the biggest fight that can be made for me I think,” Jack said.
