Former world champion Barry McGuigan has named who he thinks is the greatest attacking fighter of all time.
Irish promoter and former professional boxer McGuigan held the lineal and WBA featherweight titles in 1985 and 1986 so knows a thing or two about winning at the top.
He remains in the sport as a manager and his son Shane is a revered trainer who has worked with the likes of Chris Billam-Smith and Lawrence Okolie.
McGuigan has posted a new message on X which saw him share his views on who he thinks is one of the greatest attacking boxers to ever do it, and that’s Roberto Duran.
Always believed @robertoduranbox was the greatest attacking fighter that there’s ever been. These two pictures are 38 years apart, Palm Springs 1986 (where we shared a training camp) and yesterday in London’s big fight press conference with @McGuigans_Gym

Panamanian former fighter Duran competed from 1968 to 2001 and held world championships in four weight classes over the course of five decades’ worth of fights.
He was voted by The Ring magazine as the 5th greatest fighter of the last 80 years and is a hero to many, including McGuigan it seems.
The pair had a successful relationship when Frampton began his professional career, with ‘The Jackal’ becoming a two-weight world champion, but the pair have now become bitter enemies after a public falling out that ended up in court.
