There were no pleasantries exchanged between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank during their first press conference before they clash on October 8th live on DAZN pay-per-view.
After all the questions were answered, the two Brit’s had more to say to each other at the face-off where there was nowhere to hide.
It was the bigger man, in Eubank Jr, who began the verbal exchange, commenting on Benn’s height.
“You’re taller than I thought you’d be.”
Junior is 5’11, three inches taller than his opponent – but on stage the height disparity looked negligible.
Benn has never been one to shy away from a battle, whether it be physical or verbal, with him replying back to Eubank’s remarks:
“That ain’t gonna make no difference mate, you know what they say about the bigger they are.
“It’s mad to think you think you can walk through me you know.”
After referring to Eubank as “delusional”, a word Benn has called the Brighton based middleweight multiple times in the build-up, Eubank hit back saying:
“We’re both just a bunch of delusional motherf*****s and that’s okay.”
Despite the stubbornness of both men, it was Benn who finished with the upper hand, getting the last words in the exchange:
“I love the smugness though.”
With the sons of former world champions barely breaking eye contact through the verbal battle, the intensity of the bout was there for all to see.
