Chris Billam-Smith believes he can add another late stoppage to his résumé on Saturday.
‘The Gentleman’ defends his European and Commonwealth Cruiserweight titles against Isaac Chamberlain on home territory at Bournemouth’s International Centre.
Billam-Smith will be making the third defence of his European crown since defeating Tommy McCarthy for the coveted blue belt one year ago.
The two men crossed paths once again back in April, but this time Billam-Smith didn’t need a judges decision and instead stopped the Irishman in the eighth round.
Speaking to Boxing Social’s Harry Judd the champion could see himself doing something similar against Chamberlain.
“I think the fight may unfold in a similar fashion. I’ll set a high pace, I have a high work-rate, have a high punch output and I break people down and I try to take them out late. And I think that could be similar in this fight.”

The current odds-on favourite, to win the fight, also believes that activity and experience could be key.
Chamberlain has fought six rounds in just over two years while Billam-Smith has amassed 44 in the same period.
“I think it adds to it. You can’t buy experience and the experience I’ve had over the last two years has changed me and matured me as a fighter, and got me to headline in my own town.”
A win for Billam-Smith on Saturday could see his current one-fight deal with Sky Sports extended, after parting ways amicably with Matchroom.
Another Cruiserweight who fights on the same channel is Richard Riakporhe. The Londoner got the better of CBS back in July 2019.
Since then, each of them has forged different paths but with both closing in on a World Title fight the rematch is now a realistic possibility says Billam-Smith.
“That fight and where we are now, we’re both very close to a World Title so I think it would be silly from a business point of view and both of our sides not to have that fight for a world title.
“We’re that close now it makes sense to do that fight for a World Title later down the line which would be amazing.”
